• • Clinical Investigator in the Master of Health Sciences in Clinical Research program at Duke University, specializing in AI-integrated risk prediction and real-world modeling in pediatric bone marrow transplantation.
• • Research interests span non-malignant hematology, hematopoietic cell transplantation, novel immunotherapies, and equity in pediatric leukemia and lymphoma care.
• • Chair of the Scientific BMT Committee for the Donate Life Egypt 2025 Congress, leading collaborative initiatives to advance pediatric transplant care.

Prof. Dr. Reem Hamdy

Professor of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology

Biography

Dr Reem Hamdy is a professor of rheumatology and clinical immunology, graduated from and works at the Kasr Alainy school of medicine, Cairo University. Dr Reem has delivered teaching and training to Egyptian and international visiting medical students in the field of rheumatology and clinical immunology, musculoskeletal ultrasonography and diagnostic and therapeutic interventional rheumatology.

Professor Hamdy was the first medical professor to introduce, design and train a course on the 'establishment of the evidence-based strategy in medical research and practice' at the faculty leadership development center, Cairo university. Professor Reem is an active board member of the AFLAR, and a trainer in the AFLAR teach initiative. She is the first female international advisor for the Royal College of Physicians in Egypt.

Professor Hamdy is a leader for multiple research teams and training teams in the field of rheumatology training and research (founder of the Women in rheumatology research and training group). She is an editor and reviewer for several international medical journals and publishers. Dr Reem is also an advisory board member in several influential journals, author and co-author of publications, and an international speaker in the field of rheumatology and immunology.

Contributions to Teaching and Training

• • Designer and trainer of the "Evidence based strategy in medical research and practice postdoctoral training workshop" for the faculty leadership development center Cairo University.
• • Rheumatology research training and mentorship for the African League of associations in rheumatology (AFLAR Teach Initiative).
• • Postgraduate Musculoskeletal Ultrasound training at the Rheumatology and rehabilitation department, Kasr Alainy School of Medicine, Cairo University, Egypt.
• • Training of Certified International Professional trainers- CIPT and certified International Professional Educators- CIPE at the Faculty Leadership Development center – Cairo University.

Dr. Mohamed Elshamy

General & Laparoscopic Surgery Specialist

Biography

Dr. Mohamed Elshamy is a General & Laparoscopic Surgery Specialist and Surgery Department Coordinator at Saudi German Hospital, Alexandria. He holds a Master's degree in General and Laparoscopic Surgery and is a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (MRCSI). He is also a Member of the Egyptian Society of Surgeons and the Egyptian Society of Endoscopy.

Currently pursuing both a PhD in Surgery and an MBA at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport, Dr. Elshamy combines clinical expertise with leadership and healthcare management. With over a decade of surgical experience, he is passionate about advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery, surgical oncology, and clinical research, as well as medical education.

Beyond the operating room, he serves as Chairman of Brilliance Educational Academy and has shared his insights as a TEDx speaker.
